Play Spades Online
Play the classic Spades card game online with a computer partner against two computer opponents. Bid how many tricks your team can win and try to reach 500 points before the opposing team.
How to Play Spades
- Spades is played by four players in two teams.
- Each player receives 13 cards.
- Before the hand begins, every player bids the number of tricks they expect to win.
- Players must follow the suit that was led whenever possible.
- A Spade beats every card from the other three suits.
- The team that reaches 500 points first wins the match.
Bidding
Your team’s contract is the combined total of your bid and your partner’s bid. Your team must win at least that many tricks to earn points.
Nil Bid
A Nil bid means that you plan to win zero tricks. A successful Nil earns 100 points, while winning one or more tricks results in a 100-point penalty.
Bags and Overtricks
Every trick won above your team’s contract counts as one bag. Bags add one point each, but collecting ten bags causes a 100-point penalty.
Breaking Spades
Spades normally cannot be led until a Spade has already been played on another trick. A player who has only Spades remaining may lead them immediately.
