About Star Patrol · First Light
First Light is Studio challenge 01 in the Star Patrol series. Clear three waves and a two-phase capital ship in sector 1. Enemy fire and boss hull scale with tier 1. Two nova bombs are available.
This course reuses the full Studio game engine with a fixed seed and a separate completion record. It is a challenge variation, not a separate game type. Replays use the same conditions, while the main game includes its own campaign and mission unlocks.
Star Patrol is an original HTML5 space shooter with layered nebula scenery, detailed fighters and three mission sectors. Scouts, interceptors and armored craft use different movement and firing patterns. Destroying formations builds a score multiplier while weapon pickups change the actual firing pattern.
Each sortie has three waves followed by a capital ship. Its reactor switches to a wider, faster pattern below 45% health. Two finite nova bombs can clear the screen and damage the boss. Hull pickups and a short recovery shield give you room to recover from a hit.
Completing a sector unlocks the next one. Mission medals depend on damage taken, while the result screen reports score, hull, hostiles destroyed and firing accuracy. Progress stays in this browser. Fixed challenge sorties use their own seed, sector assignment and tier-scaled enemy fire and boss health.
How to play
Choose a sector and launch. Move with arrows, WASD, the mouse or a drag on the playfield. Auto-fire starts on and can be toggled below the game. Collect W pickups to upgrade the weapon and + pickups to restore hull. Press X or Nova to clear enemy fire and damage the formation; each mission starts with two bombs. Survive three waves and destroy the capital ship. Press P to pause. Challenge objective: Clear three waves and a two-phase capital ship in sector 1. Enemy fire and boss hull scale with tier 1. Two nova bombs are available.
Tips for your next round
Small movements between enemy bursts leave more room than sweeping across the entire screen. A nova is useful when the boss spread fills your escape route. Keep the ship below the formation, collect weapon upgrades, and watch the wider spread when the boss reactor becomes critical.
